Well I finally made it! It’s Sunday morning and I arrived in Las Vegas last night after driving through the desert from Phoenix (not forgetting a slight detour through somewhere called Blyth, California). Driving through the desert sunset and into Vegas just as darkness fell was an experience difficult to describe. Not that it’s ever truly dark in Vegas of course – or so it seems. After the quiet tranquility of the desert, arriving in Vegas is quite a shock to the system – and of course it was Saturday night, so probably the busiest time of all! I saw little of Phoenix, since I was just passing through, but the thing that struck me first of all (well maybe second, after the heat) was the smell of the place. Aside from the usual city smells of traffic and humanity, there was an underlying tropical sort of fragrance which was quite wonderful (this effect may have been enhanced by the fact that the day before leaving Canada we had wet snow).
I’m meeting Ms Constance for breakfast in a little while and I’m excited to meet her in person for the first time! After that – well, who knows what I’ll do for the rest of the day…
Join me this evening in chat for the Magic Bus at 10pm EST and I’ll see if I can drag Ms Constance along too. After the Magic Bus we’ll be having dinner/drinks/party/general debauchery with Ms Ally and the other LDW Mistresses so the Bus will be a sort of warm-up for that! There’ll be no new Magic Bus episode this week, but I hope to make up for that with the live broadcast of “Happy Hour with Constance and Catherine” tomorrow night. That’s an event that should not be missed.
